Imagine that for a moment.
The Vision
For the FUSE 13th birthday at Printworks, Rapt transformed the industrial scale of the Press Halls into a high-octane sensory environment.
The vision for FUSE was to celebrate over a decade of music culture by amplifying the raw, mechanical energy of Printworks. We aimed to build a visual narrative that didn't just sit on the screens but lived within the architecture of the space. The goal was to create a symbiotic relationship between the sound and the light, ensuring every beat was felt through a physical, visual extension of the music.
The Creation
The studio provided specialist VJ services and intricate laser mapping to define the night's aesthetic. We developed a system where lasers directly referenced the on-screen visuals, creating sharp outlines and accentuating the digital content in real-time.
This technique added a structural layer to the visual experience, effectively pulling the 2D imagery off the LED walls and into the 3D void of the venue. By synchronising the laser movements with the rhythmic pulse of the set, we ensured the technology moved in perfect harmony with the performance.
The Moment
The moment the lasers cut through the darkness of the Press Halls, the physical reality of the venue shifted. People were met with a dense, atmospheric web of light that mirrored the intensity of the 13th-anniversary celebration.
The audience became part of a collective, high-energy experience where the boundaries between the music, the visuals, and the industrial architecture dissolved. These moments of synchronised chaos stayed with the crowd long after the final track, marking a significant milestone in the city's music history.
