Imagine that for a moment.

The Vision

For the CAPSULE*4 project, Rapt explored the intimate boundary between technological precision and human feeling through a multi-sensory environment.

The vision for CAPSULE*4 was to create a visceral sanctuary where technology directly governs human emotion. We aimed to build a space that invites people to step inside a controlled environment, using the synaesthetic harmony between light, sound, and vibration to elicit specific internal responses. The focus remained on the physical reality of how distinct frequencies can alter an individual's state of mind, turning an abstract feeling into a tangible, immersive atmosphere.

The Creation

In collaboration with L.E.G (Bertie Sampson, Rupert Rose-Antoine, and Ben Dolman-Bowles), the studio developed a structural environment divided into four distinct capsules.

Each capsule was engineered to contain a specific emotive atmosphere, orchestrated through the strict synchronisation of sensory inputs using high-fidelity LED batten lighting and spatial audio to surround participants. The system was tuned to specific frequencies designed to trigger targeted psychological and physiological reactions, integrated with vibration technology to ensure the work was felt physically as well as seen and heard.

The Moment

The moment a participant steps into a capsule, the outside world dissolves into a singular, overwhelming sensory frequency. People are met with a synchronised surge of light and sound that confronts the senses, forcing a shift in scale and emotional intensity.

As the vibration pulses through the floor and the LEDs strobe in rhythm with the soundscape, the participant becomes a core part of the work. These moments of high-tension and release stay with the audience long after they leave the capsule, leaving a lasting influence on their perception of how technology can shape the human soul.

Other projects shaped by the same curiosity for emotion and form.

Our team of artists, technologists, designers, and storytellers has built glowing domes in deserts and lit up stages around the world. Yet we still work like we did on day one: curious, experimental, slightly unrestrained. We believe in serious play and creative experiments that leave a mark. If it’s forgettable, it’s not for us (and neither is it for you).
